Careful thought has been put into the development of the children’s allotment space to ensure that it is packed full of wild and wonderful treasures that appeal to all of their senses. It’s a calming space where all of our children can dig, plant and care for fruits, herbs, vegetables and flowers or where they can take a little quiet time to reflect.

It is very important to us that all children receive freshly prepared, homemade, healthy, nutritious and tasty meals and snacks - every day.

A great deal of care is taken to develop a healthy, well-balanced and tasty four week menu for the children. The menus repeat every four weeks to ensure the children have a good variety of foods and flavours.

Local Produce from Duttons, Kelsall

We use local produce, seasonal fruit and vegetables and do not add salt to our cooking. All of our meat is sourced from our local butcher in Kelsall.

Henry eats better than us! It’s brilliant to see local vans turning up in the morning with produce - I know Henry is getting the best quality food.

Baby Weaning, Finger Food

We aim to cut back on added sugar wherever possible and have created some lovely reduced sugar cakes with vegetables such as ‘Chocolate & Beetroot Brownie’. We focus on giving as much fresh fruit and vegetables as possible, all from our local greengrocer, and dairy including natural yoghurt.

We’ve two types of menu at the nursery, firstly a weaning menu which introduces babies to fruit and vegetables, and secondly a main menu for all children from 12 months upwards.

For older babies, we will begin to offer a pureed or mashed version of the main menu, so that they can get used to the different foods.

All dietary requirements are catered for in the nursery.
