Children In Need Fundraising Fun! Told by Maximilian Gittins
When nursery said that we were going to do a Nature Hunt Trail to raise funds for Children in Need, I was very happy! I love to go outside and look at leaves and touch flowers so it was all really exciting.
My lovely adult friends at nursery gave mummy a sponsorship form and said that the trail would be next week. It seems like mummy must have forgotten about the event also lost the form so not a great attempt at raising money for charity! Mummy seems to forget about a lot of things… the days of the week, putting out the recycling, getting dressed…
I think mummy must have been feeling guilty because she decided to go to great lengths to help me raise some money very quickly for this charity. She decided to dress as a bunny rabbit and drop me off at nursery wearing this funny costume! Daddy said something about Mummy and ‘nuts’ but I thought rabbits ate carrots?
Anyway, supposedly one of her friends dared her to do her food shop wearing the bunny costume to get people donating more money. So, Mummy jumped at the chance to wear the costume all day! Daddy mumbled something about wearing a onesie in public and how it was an excuse to not get dressed properly but Mummy seemed really happy walking around and wearing her matching pink mask.
When we were in the supermarket lots of people stopped to look at us. We got a few photographs taken and I saw people smile which was fun. Mummy got a little bit carried away and bought some carrots for a snack from the grocers, posed with people outside, bought takeaway coffee…she even did a few ‘live’ videos for Facebook just to keep everyone interested!
When we added up all the money people had donated, we were really surprised! I can’t wait for the next time we have to get sponsorship! Mummy said its Daddy’s turn next. Daddy just rolled his eyes!
